The 35-year-old insurance salesman made a first Sean Lowe bachelor appearance on a television show in the ABC’s The Bachelorette (season 8). Born second after an elder sister, Shay, of Jay and Sherry Lowe, appeared on the season with Emily Maynard Johnson. He was however sent home after coming third on the show after going out on an unsuccessful overnight dinner with the bachelorette, Emily. Although he was eliminated, he was a frontrunner throughout the competition with Emily commenting afterward that she had just sent "the perfect guy" home. The fans of the show loved Sean very much. He had become their favorite, an advantage that followed him a role in the show’s 17th season. He was given the role of the bachelor where 26 women, instead of the usual 25, would meet him, the man of their dreams at the same time. His dilemma was in dating all of them to choose the ultimate and best of all. It was in the season finale of the show The Bachelor that the story of Sean Lowe and Catherine Giudici was born.
